WANT TO LEARN THE EXPERT SECRET TO IMPROVE YOUR FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGE?

One word … Algorithms.

Wait, what?

Here’s the question I’m asked over and over … “why does my business page not show up automatically to all my followers when I post?”

The simple answer is that it is a result of Facebook algorithms, or collected data.

Algorithms “read” activity over Facebook (and all digital media) and collect information. Out of millions of messages across Facebook, it decides what you will see when you open your feed. It collects all of your on-line activity and, based on that information determines what will be the best experience for you, the user.  In other words, if you have a special friend on Facebook with whom you interact frequently via likes, emojis, shares, or comments, you are likely to see most of their posts when they are actively posting. If you click on a Facebook ad for a car, the algorithm assumes you are interested in buying a car and will continue to serve you car ads. If you have a customer who interacts with most of your posts, chances are they will see most of your messages. A customer who casually liked your page once, will probably never see your posts unless the content has high relevancy for them.

The point is that algorithms are revamped frequently during the year by the digital gurus with the intent of keeping you interested in staying on Facebook and to continue scrolling.

Consider this: The average Facebook user has 338 “friends” and only about 20%, if that, are ones with whom you interact on a post. You may, in fact, have a substantial number of people who have “liked” your page, yet if they don’t frequently interact with your page, Facebook decides they aren’t really interested, or they have more interest in other pages. Since Facebook wants to keep the user on their site, the algorithm watches their activity and decides what they see in their feed.  The only way you to daily see each “friend” activity would be to go to all 338 pages every day … wow, way too much time!

Fact is, Facebook will typically show your posts to less than 3% of your followers. That is exactly why paid ads are critical for your business. When you utilize paid ads, you can target exactly who you want to reach, where they live, and when to reach them.  You may also target them by their lifestyle, income, professions, interests, and hundreds of other options.

There are over 1.4 billion active Facebook users daily. 68% of US adults are on Facebook. 45% of adults get their news from Facebook. Facebook users generate over 4 million “likes” every minute. Mind blown. It’s critical to take advantage of how Facebook can help your business. A healthy Facebook page will increase your Google search ranking and appearing on page one of a search is the ultimate goal.

Finally, here’s a tip for your business:  a customer “like” is important, but an emoji is better. A comment is even better, and a share of your post is the ultimate GOLD.  Design your posts to be so engaging that they produce the GOLD!

Confusing? You bet it is. That’s why it’s important to have an expert help you navigate the complicated digital arena, get your message to the most potential customers, and keep them coming back!
